ACT Junior Championships Results

Congratulations to Joshua placing 1st in the 800m. Josh has been selected to go to Australian Championships in Sydney.
Well done to Olivia also placing 1st in the 800m all the training paying off winning comfortably. Excellent race by Max just back from injury still placed well running up an age group.
Congratulations to Nicola and Mike cruising through their regional championships. Nicola winning 800m, 1500, 100m relay and triple jump. Mike ran well in the 800m and placed 2nd in the 1500m

Sunday Training 18th Oct Canceled

ACTPSSA championships on Monday so no long run this Sunday.
Track also starts this Saturday so senior runners can run their events and do a long run still on Sunday. Rest Monday for all those doing south side zone championships on Tuesday.

Weston Creek Champions

Great results by all runners today times are now updated.
Joshua and Olivia winning the U12 categories and Nicola winning the U14.
We also won the team of 4, well done to Henry and Mike running very fast. With me and Nicola taking out parent and child. Great run to Clea  and Nina looks promising for the future.
We hit gold with the barrel draws also Joshua taking out the big outdoor setting.

Stromlo cross country closed again.

More work is being done at Stromlo until Feb 2010 so training calendar has changed please check page for training locations. Local Tuesday cross country summer series also commencing soon so this will become our Tuesday evening training.

Sri Chinmoy

Joshua rules the 4k race. Excellent results today by all runners taking home the prizes again but young Josh hits his form again to win the 4k race out right at just 10.
Well done to Nicola taking out 1st place in the under 12 girls and Mike winning the under 17 boys. Great runs returning to their former form. Great run alos by Olivia to place 2nd behind Nicola with just me left to place 3rd in the open men event.

Fun Run Season

Congratulations to Henry on his excellent effort in the Canberra Times 10k Fun run. Max still in recovery had to retire. There are more runs approaching.
Sri Chinmoy 4k fun run and the Weston Creek 6k family fun run great events for the whole family. Let me know if you’re interested in running them.

ACTCC Junior Champion

All the results are in and Nicola has again claimed the junior championship trophy. A nice reward after having to miss out on the Australian Championships due to her operation. Congratulations to Nicola Michael finished 4th well done Mike.

Australian Championships

Great day with some mixed weather but excellent racing and times. Joshua got home for 2nd place in a thrilling race. Olivia also ran well placing 10th. Georgia and Mikaela also putting in a good show for ACT.

ACT Schools Cross Country Championship

Congratualitions to all and an excellent effort by Brittany, James, Henry, Olivia, Joshua, Nicola, Georgie and Michael. Everybody made it and had a great run. Big improver of the year Michael raced well and an excellent big effort by Henry to finish in 3rd.

Please keep up the training and focus your goals towards Nationals now at the end of August. The Track competition will be changing for next year with Nationals going back to the AUST athletics clubs control this is a good thing but it will change the timing of competitions and make all schools obsolete possibly. So runners turning 12 next year will need to think about summer sports as the only way to qualify for nationals will be via the interclub competition not schools or Little A’s. Due to my new job starting up next week I am not sure on training times so we will have a week off and I will try to work out a new program for everyone.
